The HEP Urban Empowerment Garden is a small organic garden located at the Homeless Empowerment Program (www.hepempowers.org/) in Clearwater. The garden was established to give space and opportunity for our residents to grow their own vegetables, herbs, flowers. Over the years many residents have become involved and we have expanded the garden to propagating vegetable, herb and flower plants to sell and raise money for the program. The garden is currently used to provide food to the homeless shelter kitchen and to educate both adult and children of the HEP program and visitors about the importance of growing local organic food. Your support will help us to continue the garden as well as continue to help the homeless individuals in our community. The garden is currently managed by Dunedin Harvest Co-op Manager Bree Cheatham.
