Whinot Garden?

Website: whinotgarden.ning.com/

Whinot Garden is an edible, organic, community garden located in Dunedin… we began in March of this year and this is our first winter garden… we’re small, but growing… we doubled out space in July and are very excited to see what does well… we have full sun and shade areas… and we love permaculture… our goal is to be a teaching opportunity as well as a source of safe food for ourselves and enough to share with the community through the co-op…;0)

the cucuzza (cuzzi) squash gourd is a must see… i hope to have some pics tomorrow… along with the cuzzi we have yard long green beans, malabar spinach, magnolia figs, phoenix tomatoes, yellow and red brandywine tomatoes. red bell peppers, pak chow, broccoli, a moringa tree, assorted lettuces; black seeded simpson, arugula, gourmet mix, spicy mix… carrots, beets, basil, lime basil, lemon grass, beefsteak tomatoes, sugar snap peas, cucumbers, watermelon, gourds, pumpkins, and squash… papaya, avocado, name and malanga roots, chaya… and more to come… it’s a work in progress…

you can also check out Laura’s garden next door at Robert’s… in case you are not aware… one of the goals of whinot? is to hook up gardeners without a garden, with people who don’t garden but have the space for a garden…, so Laura, one of our volunteer gardeners, and Robert, my neighbor, did just that… it’s looking great… but you have to come see for yourself… ;0)

Our bedding plants are all grown organically, primarily Heirloom seeds, and most 4" pots have multiple plants in each. Our goal is to provide organically grown, heirloom bedding plants year round… veggies, herbs, and flowers…
